Welcome to North End Travel Clinic

Travelling to other countries can be an exposure to disease, so that it is important that you and your loved ones are protected against preventable diseases as much as possible and reasonable.

Following vaccinations are available on the NHS: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, hepatitis A, typhoid and cholera.

Following vaccinations are not available on the NHS: hepatitis B, japanese encephalitis, meningitis ACYW, rabies, tickborne encephalitis and yellow fever.

In most Primary Care Trusts malaria prophylaxis is not available on the NHS.

The North End Travel Clinic has the advantage that it is part and in the same building of a large NHS GP surgery, the North End Medical Centre (www.northendmedicalcentre.org).
So if you are registered with the North End Medical Centre or register before you get the vaccinations, the diphtheria, tetanus, polio, hepatitis A, typhoid and cholera vaccinations will be free for you.

We also offer the vaccination GARDASIL against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which provides protection against cervical cancer (in women) and genital warts (in women and men) for a competitive price.
In the UK GARDASIL is licensed for girls and women aged 9 - 26 and boys aged 9 - 15 (in the US the licence for males is extended to 26 years).

Gardasil is not part of the routine vaccination schedule and it is not available on the NHS.
The vaccination Cervarix, which is given by the NHS only to girls, who are 12 or 13 years of age, does provide protection against cervical cancer, but not against the strains that cause genital warts.
